Antara, Jakarta – Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka said criticism of the Prabowo-Gibran administration in a two-year performance review by the Center of Economic and Law Studies (Celios) should prompt the government to reassess its policies and working methods.

In a statement received in Jakarta on Tuesday, October 13, Gibran said he welcomed surveys, research findings, and criticism from the public and independent institutions.

"I see all of these as part of democracy and as material for the government to evaluate itself and continue improving," he said.

Gibran said criticism directed at the government and himself, including that presented in the Celios report, should lead to policy reviews and improvements. He added that the government also needed to improve how it worked to ensure its policies addressed problems faced by the public.

The Celios report, released on Sunday, October 11, was prepared with the Shadow Cabinet to assess the performance of President Prabowo Subianto and Gibran over the past two years.

At the report's launch, Celios Executive Director Bhima Yudhistira said 75 percent of 1,122 respondents reported feeling stressed because of government policies. The main concerns included rising prices of basic goods, difficulty finding jobs, and law enforcement.

The survey covered 1,142 members of the general public and 129 experts from various provinces across Indonesia.

On a scale of 1 to 10, the administration received an average performance score of 4.6 from the general public and 2.8 from experts. Gibran received a score of 4.9 from the public, compared with 2.2 from experts.
