Ervana Trikarinaputri, Jakarta – Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting (SMRC) revealed that public satisfaction with President Prabowo Subianto's performance has plummeted by roughly 30 percent over the past nine months.

SMRC Executive Director Deni Irvani explained that public approval of Prabowo's performance stood at 51.1 percent in July 2026. Nine months earlier, in November 2025, public approval sat at 81.2 percent.

Deni noted that the decrease in public approval stems from increasingly negative public assessments of current national conditions. "The drop in public satisfaction is closely tied to deteriorating sentiment regarding the economy, politics, and law enforcement," Deni said in a press statement on Sunday, July 26, 2026.

Conversely, SMRC data over the same timeframe shows a sharp rise in respondents who feel dissatisfied or very dissatisfied with President Prabowo's performance. Dissatisfaction rose to 46.9 percent in July 2026, up from roughly 16 percent in November 2025.

Deni elaborated that in the latest poll conducted from July 5 to 19, 2026, roughly 4.8 percent of respondents reported feeling very satisfied with the president's performance, while 46.3 percent were somewhat satisfied. Meanwhile, 35 percent reported feeling somewhat dissatisfied, 11.9 percent were entirely dissatisfied, and around 2.1 percent were undecided or declined to answer.

The survey, titled "Kondisi Ekonomi Politik dan Approval Rating Presiden" (Economic Political Conditions and President's Approval Rating), was carried out by SMRC between July 5 and July 19, 2026. The target population encompassed all eligible Indonesian voters, defined as citizens aged 17 or older, or those married at the time of the poll.

The poll surveyed a randomized sample totaling 749 respondents. Among them, 605 phone-owning respondents (83.8 percent) were interviewed by phone, while 144 respondents without mobile phones (16.2 percent) were interviewed in person. SMRC noted that the survey carries a 3.7 percent margin of error at a 95 percent confidence level.
