Muhammad Firman, Jakarta – Public satisfaction with the performance of ministers in President Prabowo Subianto's Red and White Cabinet has reached 70%, according to a nationwide survey conducted by Cyrus Network in early April 2026.

The poll found that 67.3% of respondents said they were satisfied with ministerial performance, while 2.7% reported being "very satisfied." About 24% expressed dissatisfaction, pointing to lingering concerns despite broadly positive sentiment.

The survey, conducted from April 1-5, involved 1,260 respondents interviewed face-to-face across 126 villages and urban wards in all 38 provinces. It used a multistage random sampling method with a 95% confidence level and a margin of error of 2.82%.

Cyrus Network's lead researcher, Syahril Ilhami, said the findings indicate that most Indonesians view the government's ministerial performance favorably, though improvements are still needed to strengthen public trust.

"The data show that overall performance is seen as positive by a majority of the public, but there remains room for improvement," he said.

Analysts say public perceptions are shaped by more than policy outcomes alone. Center for Strategic and International Studies researcher Arya Fernandes identified three key drivers of ministerial popularity: public exposure, institutional reach, and proximity to the president.

Ministries that frequently communicate their programs and achievements tend to score higher in public recognition, he said, citing the Finance Ministry and Cabinet Secretariat as examples. Institutions with extensive regional networks – such as the police – also benefit from stronger visibility due to their presence in local communities.

"Proximity to the president also matters," Arya said. "Entities like the Cabinet Secretariat, which interact with the head of state on a daily basis, naturally gain higher exposure."

Cyrus Network CEO Hafizhul Mizan added that public perceptions can also be influenced by the personal popularity of ministers themselves, although the survey sought to focus on institutional performance rather than individual figures.

Top-performing ministries

The survey identified 10 ministries with the highest performance ratings, though the differences among them were statistically narrow, within roughly a three-percentage-point range.

The top-ranked institutions include the Finance Ministry, Health Ministry, Cabinet Secretariat, and Agriculture Ministry, followed by portfolios overseeing youth and sports, primary and secondary education, higher education and science, women's empowerment and child protection, culture, and communications and digital affairs.

Popularity rankings

Beyond performance, the survey also measured institutional popularity. Only two bodies – the Finance Ministry and the Cabinet Secretariat – were consistently recognized by a broad cross-section of respondents.

Other highly visible institutions included the Religious Affairs Ministry, the Indonesian National Police, the National Nutrition Agency, and ministries overseeing agriculture, health, energy, social affairs, and youth and sports.

"This shows that active public communication plays a major role in how institutions are perceived," Syahril said.
