Antara, Jakarta – The Aceh Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBA) reported that Central Aceh Regency has once again been struck by flash floods, causing two emergency bridges to collapse and leaving several villages stranded.

"Heavy rain since the afternoon has triggered flash floods across Central Aceh," stated BPBA Head Bahron Bakti in a report from Banda Aceh on Monday evening, as reported by Antara.

Bahron noted that the floods caused two emergency bridges, which were only recently constructed following a hydrometeorological disaster in late November 2025, to collapse again. "The two bridges are located in Burlah Village, Ketol District, and Terang Engon Village, Silih Nara District," he specified.

The destruction of these structures has resulted in the renewed isolation of four villages in Ketol District. "One village in Silih Nara District has also been cut off because its bridge tilted and was swept away by the surging flash flood," Bahron added.

Fortunately, there have been no reported casualties or displacements resulting from the flooding so far. In response, the Central Aceh Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has deployed two heavy equipment units to the affected sites.

"It's still raining, and the water currents remain strong. The BPBD has deployed TRC PB (Disaster Response Team) officers to anticipate further disasters," said Bahron Bakti.
