Eka Yudha Saputra, Jakarta – The Jakarta Employment Agency (BKD Jakarta) head Maria Qibtya said requests for a transfer to be Jakarta's civil servants (ASN) are rising as the government planned to bring them to the new capital in Kalimantan.
Maria, however, stopped short of detailing the number of requests. She emphasized that BKD has guidelines and mechanisms on the transfer according to the gubernatorial regulations.
"Many [state apparatus] willing to be transferred to Jakarta, but we have gubernatorial regulations on the transfer as considerations, which are the first is the need and the second is the budget. So we are definitely selective," said Maria to Tempo on Monday, Feb. 28.
The hike in the requests submitted by state apparatus of the central government institutions was also revealed by the Director-General of Information and Public Communication at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Usman Kansong, in a webinar on Friday, Feb. 25.
Usman opined that the issue should not be taken lightly as it could lead to the loss of assets of human resources (HR) in government agencies.
As previously reported, the government announced that it will move 7,687 civil servants, military or TNI personnel, police personnel, State Intelligence Agency, up to Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres) to the new capital in Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan, from 2022 to 2024.
