Sultan Abdurrahman, Jakarta – Former President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo visited President Prabowo Subianto at the latter's residence at Jalan Kertanegara IV, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, on Tuesday night, October 6, 2026, as confirmed by Executive Chair of the Gerindra Party Sufmi Dasco Ahmad.

"The meeting took place last night (Tuesday evening)," he said at the DPR building in Jakarta on Wednesday, October 7, 2026.

The meeting between Prabowo and Jokowi coincided with the Constitutional Court announcing its ruling on the 2024 election dispute regarding the educational validity of Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who is Jokowi's eldest son.

According to Dasco, he was aware of the meeting but did not personally attend Prabowo's residence. "So, I don't know what was discussed during the meeting," the senior official of the ruling party said.

Two close associates of Jokowi also confirmed that the visit took place on Tuesday night. However, both sources declined to answer Tempo's questions regarding the agenda of the meeting.

On Tuesday night, activity around President Prabowo's residence appeared heightened. After 7:00 p.m., several police patrol vehicles and Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres) units were spotted parked along Jalan Sriwijaya I, located near Prabowo's home.

Dozens of journalists from various media outlets stood guard around the residence to cover Jokowi's visit. However, reporters could only observe from a distance, as security prohibited them from approaching within 100 meters of the perimeter fence surrounding Prabowo's home.

At 8:47 p.m., the convoy of vehicles parked around Prabowo's house began leaving the premises. Prabowo's official vehicle, a white Maung MV3, was also seen departing through the residence gates. Media personnel were unable to glimpse the faces of either Jokowi or Prabowo as the vehicles exited the location.

That same night, the Constitutional Court convened a session to deliver its verdict on the 2024 election dispute petition challenging Gibran's educational credentials. The hearing commenced at 7:57 p.m., with the ruling read out at 8:58 p.m., moments before the session adjourned at 9:00 p.m.

The legal challenge was brought by the Independent Election Monitoring Committee, former Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights Denny Indrayana, the Ummat Party, and the Forum of Retired TNI Soldiers.

Constitutional Justice Liliek P. Adi, who read the legal considerations of the decision on October 6, 2026, stated that the petitioners lacked the legal standing to bring the case.

He explained that under Article 74, paragraph (1), letter b of the Constitutional Court Law, alongside Article 3, paragraph (1) of Court Regulation No. 4/2023 as amended by PMK No. 2/2024, legitimate petitioners are restricted to presidential and vice-presidential candidate pairings. "Therefore, the petitioners do not possess legal standing to file the a quo case," Liliek declared.

Nevertheless, in their legal considerations, the justices noted that the Certificate of Attendance and supporting documents submitted by Gibran Rakabuming Raka under statement letter 9149/D.D1/KS/2019 served as proof of school attendance rather than official evidence of graduation or completion.

The lawsuit, registered as case No. 01/PHPU.PRES-XXIV/2026, challenged the validity of Gibran's educational documentation submitted to meet candidacy requirements in the 2024 presidential election.
