Wahyu Sahala Tua, Jakarta – Indonesia's homegrown electronics company Polytron has officially started mass production of its electric vehicles in Indonesia.

Just a month after opening its first Polytron EV Gallery & Service showroom in South Jakarta, Polytron has begun semi-knockdown (SKD) production of its G3+ and G3 electric vehicles at the Handal Indonesia Motor facility in Purwakarta, West Java.

In a statement on Friday, Polytron said its production line uses advanced equipment, including a sophisticated Dyno Test system capable of testing FWD, RWD, and AWD vehicles with flexible wheelbase settings. The system features real-time battery temperature monitoring during performance testing to ensure vehicle safety and performance from the outset.

The company said its electric vehicles undergo multiple testing stages under what it calls the Electric Safety Test protocol, which includes battery installation testing, assembly process testing, rain and water leak testing, and pre-delivery center (PDC) inspections before shipment to customers.

"This rigorous process demonstrates Polytron's full commitment to safety standards, production quality, and customer satisfaction," said Polytron CEO Hariono.

Polytron has invested in advanced automated equipment, including vacuum filling machines, dynamic performance test systems, safety testing devices, and ADAS calibration tools to support its production. The Purwakarta facility has a production capacity of up to 30,000 electric vehicles per year.

The Polytron G3+ and G3 are offered under two ownership schemes. Customers can opt for a "Buy to Own" model, which includes the battery, with an eight-year or 180,000-kilometer battery warranty and a five-year or 150,000-kilometer vehicle warranty, along with a resale value guarantee of up to 70 percent within three years. Alternatively, customers can choose a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) scheme, purchasing the vehicle without the battery while enjoying a lifetime battery warranty during the lease period, making EV ownership more accessible.

Polytron's move into mass production aligns with Indonesia's push toward Net Zero Emission goals by 2060, reinforcing its commitment to supporting the national electric vehicle ecosystem while contributing to the country's green transition.
