Antara, Jakarta – West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi said students who break curfew will be sent to military barracks. Students who break curfew rules, according to Dedi, will be recorded in the application system and will receive a warning letter from the school principal.
"Reports from the police, community police officers, village supervisory officers, village heads, and neighborhood heads will enter the system. So, on the data map, the Education Office will see how many students take sick leave, are absent, or are roaming at night," said Dedi. "They will be recorded on the map."
Previously, Dedi Mulyadi through a circular letter encouraged regents and mayors to coordinate the students' curfew implementation at the district and village levels.
The curfew implementation, he said, must be taken seriously. Dedi stressed that the West Java government will not assist students who are involved in misconduct with violent tendencies within the curfew period.
"After the curfew implementation, the West Java government will not provide financial assistance for students who require hospitalization after getting into street brawls or fights," said Dedi.
In this policy, the West Java government imposes a curfew from 9:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. for elementary to high school students, with few exceptions.
For example, students who participate in school-sanctioned activities or religious events with their parents' permission are exempt from curfew. Other exceptions including disasters and specific conditions known by parents or guardians.
