Hendrik Yaputra, Jakarta – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto attended the National Teacher's Day commemoration event at the Indonesia Arena, Gelora Bung Karno area, Central Jakarta, on Friday, November 28, 2025.

According to Tempo's observation, the head of state arrived on site at 3:06 p.m. local time, wearing a cream-colored safari suit with a black peci cap. Inside the building, thousands of teachers wearing red and white clothes were already waiting.

Prabowo was greeted with cheers from the teachers upon entering the building. The president was accompanied by the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Abdul Mu'ti, and shook hands with some of the teachers. Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa also attended this event.

On National Teacher's Day 2025, Tuesday, November 25, 2035, Minister Abdul Mu'ti said his ministry has taken several measures to improve the qualifications, competencies, and welfare of teachers during President Prabowo Subianto's one-year government.

In 2025, the government provided scholarships of Rp3 million per semester for 12,500 teachers who have not graduated with a diploma or a bachelor's degree to join the Recognition of Prior Learning program and get a degree.

He also mentioned that the government provided various trainings, including Professional Teacher Education, upgrading of Counseling Guidance teachers, Counseling Guidance for non-Counseling Guidance teachers, Deep Learning, Coding and Artificial Intelligence, and School Leadership.

Mu'ti added that the government provided certification allowances of Rp2 million per month for non-Civil Servants (ASN) teachers and a one-time basic salary for ASN teachers. Honorary teachers were given an incentive of Rp300,000 per month.

"All allowances and incentives are transferred directly to the teachers' accounts," he said.
