Muhammad Aulia Rahman, Jakarta – The anti-graft commission KPK recently revealed that it had named someone competing in the regional heads election a corruption suspect.
KPK did not disclose the name of the said politician nor the region in which the suspect was set to compete in. However, the commission is currently writing a letter addressed to the General Election Commission (KPU) to report on their findings.
"We [KPK] are still discussing the letter [addressed to the KPU] among ourselves. But there is only one [election candidate that is named a corruption suspect]," KPK's spokesman Tessa Mahardika in Jakarta.
"I cannot disclose [the suspect's identity] because it is still not the time to publish them," Tessa said.
KPK previously said that any legal processes related to the investigations would not disrupt the election. The legal processes would also be in line with the existing procedures, the commission said. The archipelagic Indonesia will hold the regional heads election this November during which people would choose their mayors, regents, and governors.
