Yustinus Paat, Jakarta – Head of Indonesia's Financial Transactions Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK), Ivan Yustiavandana, unveiled suspicious transactions totaling Rp 80 trillion ($4.87 billion) linked to the 2024 elections.
These transactions, identified through 108 financial intelligence reports involving political entities and officials, were disclosed during a session with the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission III at Jakarta's Parliament Complex on Wednesday.
"From January 2023 to May 2024, PPATK has provided 108 financial intelligence reports consisting of analysis results/information and examination findings related to the 2024 elections and/or involving political parties, members, legislative candidates, incumbents, and active officials, totaling Rp 80 trillion," Ivan said during a working meeting with the DPR Commission III at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday.
Ivan highlighted that the findings of suspicious fund movements during the election period stemmed from the Collaborative Analysis Team (CAT), comprising PPATK, the General Election Commission (KPU), Election Oversight Body (Bawaslu), and 157 financial service providers.
Furthermore, Ivan emphasized the dissemination of these 108 reports to various external entities, including Bawaslu, KPU, the Attorney General's Office, and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
He proposed several measures aimed at enhancing transparency in election administration, including evaluating campaign fund regulations, expanding financial reporting requirements to encompass legislative elections, and implementing guidelines on cash withdrawals and currency exchanges by candidates or their representatives.
