Antara, Jakarta – Vice President Ma'ruf Amin has issued a call for national unity and respect for the forthcoming verdict from the Constitutional Court regarding the ongoing presidential election dispute, scheduled to be announced on Monday.

President-elect Prabowo Subianto is currently facing challenges from defeated candidates Anies Baswedan and Ganjar Pranowo, who have petitioned the court to annul the election result and order a revote.

The plaintiffs have alleged widespread election fraud and raised questions about the legality of Gibran Rakabuming Raka's candidacy as Prabowo's running mate. Both Anies and Ganjar have demanded the disqualification of Prabowo and Gibran in the event of a redo election.

However, despite weeks of court hearings and witness cross-examinations, the plaintiffs have failed to convincingly prove the alleged instances of voter fraud or demonstrate serious legal violations in Gibran's candidacy.

With Prabowo securing an outright victory with 58 percent of the vote, the upcoming verdict from the Constitutional Court is widely anticipated to confirm his win.

"The proceedings at the Constitutional Court are part of the lawful dispute resolution mechanism following the legislative and presidential elections. The court has allowed for public participation in its hearings and has summoned national figures and experts to provide testimony. Consequently, the court's ruling holds legitimacy," Ma'ruf said through his spokesman, Masduki Baidlowi, on Sunday.

The vice president also emphasized the importance of national unity and urged the whole nation to preserve the achievements the country has made thus far.

"National harmony and unity are essential prerequisites for the nation to continue progressing and achieving further success," he said.

The Constitutional Court justices are set to commence the reading of the verdict at 9 a.m. at the courthouse in Jakarta.
