Daniel A. Fajri, Jakarta – President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo has signed Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 18 of 2024, which increases the performance allowance for employees of the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu).

This decision has been passed two days before the simultaneous general elections, including the presidential polls, which are scheduled to take place on February 14, 2024.

As per Article 3 of the Perpres, the allowance of performance for Bawaslu employees will be implemented immediately upon the effective date of the Perpres.

The increase in the allowance will be adjusted to the position of the employees in the institution. Bawaslu has 17 classes of positions, and the highest level, class 17, will receive an allowance of up to Rp29,085,000 per month, an increase of 16.7 percent from that in 2017.

Meanwhile, the lowest level, class 1, will obtain an allowance of up to Rp1,968,000 per month, an increase of 11.44 percent from 2017.
