Rosseno Aji, Andita Rahma, Jakarta – Human rights activist and founder of the Lokataru Law and Human Rights Firm, Haris Azhar, subjected President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo to firm criticism on the inauguration speech the president delivered on Sunday.

Not only does he deems the president insensitive toward this pressing issue, but Haris also argues that Jokowi and his government is anti-human rights.

"Well, because he and the government he runs are anti-human rights and are not sensible toward issues related to this subject. Ignorant toward the problems that have arisen lately," said Haris on Monday, October 21.

Haris also believes President Jokowi missed-out on the opportunity to convince the watchful eyes of the public that the next five years will run accordingly to the constitution's agenda. "Except his fanatic followers," said Haris.

Sunday's presidential and vice-presidential inauguration ceremony saw president Jokowi read a ten-page speech that had zero mention of the country's law, human rights issues, and attempts on eradicating corruption. The president's speech focused more on Indonesia's economic development.

However, PDIP secretary-general Hasto Kristiyanto defended that president Jokowi's inauguration speech on Sunday acted as a brief vision to Indonesia's future by the year 2045.
