Jakarta – Ride-hailing company Grab Indonesia said it will discontinue its "Akses Hemat" subscription program for motorcycle taxi driver-partners, citing the need for better adjustments to support a sustainable ecosystem for all stakeholders.

The program, which had been available for GrabBike driver-partners, will be phased out as the company reviews and refines its approach amid evolving industry conditions, Grab Indonesia said in a statement.

Despite the closure of the subscription program, Grab Indonesia said its low-cost consumer service, GrabBike Hemat, will remain available. The company added that fare adjustments for the service would be implemented in a measured way while keeping rides affordable for customers.

Grab also said there are currently no plans to raise fares for users of its standard GrabBike service.

The company said maintaining the welfare of driver-partners remains a key priority as it seeks to safeguard drivers' income amid growing challenges in Indonesia's ride-hailing industry.

Grab Indonesia said it would continue running several welfare initiatives for drivers, including holiday bonuses, employment social security coverage through BPJS Ketenagakerjaan for high-performing partners, additional accident insurance, and educational scholarships for drivers' children through the GrabScholar program.

Other programs include Umrah trips for selected inspirational drivers, training and development initiatives through GrabAcademy, partner benefit programs under GrabBenefits, and the GERCEP emergency response channel.

The company also said it would continue coordinating with the government and stakeholders to ensure the smooth implementation of Presidential Regulation No. 27/2026 concerning motorcycle ride-hailing drivers.
