Oyuk Ivani Siagian, Jakarta – The Jakarta Metropolitan Police have confiscated six Molotov cocktails from two men suspected of planning to incite riots during the International Human Rights Day demonstration scheduled for December 10, 2025. The suspects have been identified by their initials as BDM and TSF.
The six Molotov cocktails were allegedly intended for use in provoking violence during the commemoration.
"From suspect BDM, we confiscated one mobile phone, one email, and six empty bottles already in the process of making Molotov cocktails," stated the Deputy Director of Ditressiber of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Grand Commissioner Rafles Marpaung, at a press conference on Monday, December 8, 2025.
Rafles explained that the Molotov cocktails made by BDM were allegedly ordered by TSF, a claim TSF denies. The two suspects were arrested at different locations: BDM was apprehended at his home in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, while TSF was arrested in Bekasi.
According to the police, the two men initially met at a flea market in the Bendungan Hilir area last September and later used the Session application for communication while planning the riots. "However, the person in question (TSF) denied ordering Molotov bombs from BDM," Rafles reiterated.
The investigation revealed that BDM is the administrator of the social media account @_bahan_peledak_, where he allegedly uploaded content containing terror threats and provocations. The threats included messages such as: "We are the shadows you fear and we are terror" and "I have terrorized your apartment, I will terrorize your office as well."
Meanwhile, TSF is the owner of the account @verdatius. The police stated that this account, initially used for sharing historical content, later began uploading content inciting riots.
Rafles confirmed that the police have identified several other accounts believed to be affiliated with this network. These accounts are suspected of preparing for riots during the upcoming demonstration by uploading instructions on how to make pipe bombs. He added: "They also planned to attack the police station and lure the police to a prepared location."
In addition to BDM and TSF, the police apprehended another suspect believed to be planning riots in Jakarta. Deputy Director of Cybercrime of the Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police, Grand Commissioner Fian Yunus, reported that the suspect, identified by the initials YM, was arrested in Bandung, West Java.
YM is the owner of the social media account @catsrebel, which police claim uploaded content containing violent threats. These threats were identified from an Instagram story post by @catsrebel featuring a photo of a Molotov cocktail with the narration: "Getting ready."
However, Fian has not yet confirmed YM's involvement with BDM and TSF. "We are still investigating their involvement," Rafles concluded.
