PDIP leads in early count of 2024 legislative election votes

Faisal Maliki Baskoro, Jakarta – The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) has taken an early lead in the real count of votes for the 2024 Legislative Election, according to the General Election Commission (KPU).

As of 1:00 PM Western Indonesia Time, data from 218,997 polling stations, approximately 26.6 percent of all polling stations nationwide, have been processed by the KPU. The preliminary results show PDIP in the lead with 803,638 votes, constituting around 17.57 percent. Following closely are the Golkar Party with 597,775 votes (13.07 percent) and Gerindra with 548,339 votes (11.99 percent).

Other notable parties in the current tally include the National Awakening Party (PKB) with 476,273 votes (10.41 percent) and the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) with 389,519 votes (8.52 percent).

Indonesia's electoral regulations stipulate that political parties must secure a minimum of 4 percent of the popular vote to secure a seat in the House of Representatives. The official results of the election will be announced by the KPU no later than March 20.

  • Golkar: 13.07 percent
  • Gerindra: 11.99 percent
  • PKB: 10.41 percent
  • PKS: 8.52 percent
  • NasDem: 7.83 percent
  • Demokrat: 6.84 percent
  • PAN: 6.26 percent
  • PPP: 4.03 percent
  • PSI: 3.63 percent
  • Perindo: 1.76 percent
  • Gelora: 1.47 percent
  • Labor Party: 1.31 percent
  • Ummat Party: 1.27 percent
  • Hanura: 1.26 percent
  • PBB: 0.99 percent
  • Garuda: 0.91 percent
  • PKN: 0.88 percent

The official results will be crucial as parties aim to meet the minimum threshold to secure representation in the House of Representatives.
