Jakarta – Enthusiasm soared high when presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto greeted thousands of Pontianak residents on Saturday despite the downpour.

Prabowo immediately thanked those who came to see him under the heavy rain.

"If you are still all full of energy, then I will have to be even more enthusiastic," Prabowo told a crowd of his supporters.

The rain eventually stopped and it was sunny again. Prabowo thanked the locals, particularly the elderly women, who stood still in the front row despite the weather.

"Thank you for your enthusiasm, particularly the emak-emak [housewives], it was incredible. You were standing under the hot sun. You did not move be it under the rain or the hot sun. Incredible," Prabowo said.

Prabowo's visit to West Kalimantan was to greet his supporters ahead of the February election. Prior to meeting the people in Kubu Raya's Qubu Resort, Prabowo also met Dayak people who were part of the community organization Pasukan Merah Tariu Borneo Bangkule Rajakng.
