Jakarta (Antara) – The Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) Surabaya and PT Industri Kereta Api (INKA) announced that the two will continue the production of Red and White electric buses after reportedly signing a Cooperation Agreement.
The news was announced by ITS Vice Chancellor IV Bambang Pramujati who explained that the two entities will produce five electric buses.
He further said that the five electric buses had reached the finishing stage. That way, the Red and White electric bus is ready to be launched in the near future.
ITS will later collaborate with other universities, such as Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Airlangga University (Unair), and the Indonesian Art Institute (ISI) Denpasar. The collaboration was carried out to conduct research on the Merah Putih electric bus project.
According to Bambang, the university cooperation has been running for 10 months. He considered that the collaboration in the production of the Red and White electric bus was a special learning opportunity.
