Antara, Jakarta – The Indonesian Ministry of Health – citing a report from the Covid-19 task force – revealed that 44,099,737 people had received booster shots up until Sunday noon of May 22.
The report also reveals that Indonesia had administered complete vaccination doses for 166,837,615 people in the country, with 72,895 recipients on Sunday. Meanwhile, first dose vaccinations had also been given to 199,883,553 people.
Citing Antaranews, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said the country's serological survey revealed that 99.2 percent of Indonesians have generated antibodies against Covid-19 as of 2022, which the minister attributed to the vaccination rate and infections among survivors.
"This basically means that 99.2 percent of Indonesia's population has developed antibodies," he said.
He said the antibody levels of the Indonesians had increased from the previous 500-600 to 7,000-8,000.
The high level of antibody development, says Budi, is proving vital in reducing the risks of hospitalization and mortality rate against Covid-19.
