Iqbal Muhtarom, Jakarta – Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan announced the Provincial Minimum Wage or UMP in 2022 would be Rp4,453,935, or increased by Rp37,000.
The city's Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy Agency Head Andri Yansyah explained the determination of the next year's minimum salary was based on two legal bases set by the central government."We cannot shift the formulation and the amount for the calculation," he said at his office, Central Jakarta, Monday, November 22, 2021.
The two regulations are Law No. 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation and Article 26 and 27 of Government Regulation Number 36 of 2021 concerning Wages that apply to workers with a work period of less than one year.
Apart from the UMP, the city administration would implement various policies in order to spur the welfare of workers, such as providing transportation services assistance, low-price food, and education assistance funds.
The Jakarta government is also carrying out various types of employment collaboration programs, including expanding the Jakarta Employment Card program and Jakarta Smart Card or KJP Plus.
