Hendrik Yaputra, Jakarta – The latest LSI Denny JA survey reveals that a majority of Indonesians are finding it more difficult to secure jobs this year compared to previous years.

Senior researcher Adjie Alfaraby stated that 60.8 percent of respondents reported greater difficulty in finding employment. Meanwhile, only 11 percent said it has become easier, and 26.5 percent considered the situation to be about the same.

"Only 11 percent find it easier to look for a job. 26.5 percent are average," said Adjie, as quoted from the LSI Denny JA YouTube channel on Wednesday, May 4, 2025.

The survey was conducted to assess public opinion during the first seven months of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka's administration. It involved 1,200 respondents, using a multi-stage random sampling method. Data was collected through face-to-face interviews held between May 16 and 31, 2025, with a margin of error of 2.9 percent.

According to Adjie, the findings serve as a warning to President Prabowo, as the country's microeconomic conditions still appear to be under strain.

Beyond employment concerns, the survey also found that a significant portion of the population is struggling to meet basic needs. A total of 58.3 percent of respondents reported difficulty in this area, while 10.3 percent said it was easier and 31 percent said their situation was unchanged.

Adjie concluded that limited job opportunities and challenges in meeting basic needs are two issues that should be seen as red flags for the Prabowo administration.

Despite this, the Prabowo-Gibran government received good ratings in five areas. In terms of security, 83.1 percent rated it well. Then, in the socio-cultural field, it was 95.1 percent, for the national legal sector, 67.8 percent, national political field, 70.8 percent, and national economy at 67.4 percent.
