Carlos Ky Paath & Christian Lee, Jakarta – Presidential nominee Prabowo Subianto's campaign team has questioned election results in Bali and Central Java, calling out irregularities in both provinces.

"In the KPU's [General Elections Commission] official count, Prabowo and Sandi [running mate Sandiaga Uno] only secured 8-9 percent of the vote in Bali. Is that so? In Central Java, [Prabowo and Sandi got] 22 percent, is that so? In 2014, Prabowo and [then running mate] Hatta Rajasa received 26 percent of the vote. Have the people of Central Java changed their mind so much?" Gerindra Party secretary general Ahmad Muzani said at the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) office in Central Jakarta on Sunday.

Gerindra is the main political machine behind Prabowo, a former Army general.

Muzani said a poll by the Indonesian Survey Circle (LSI) held just before the presidential election showed both candidates – Prabowo and incumbent President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo – running neck and neck.

He also pointed out that several media outlets had suggested the presidential debates and campaign rallies were decisive factors in the election. Muzani thinks Prabowo and Sandiaga were superior in both.

"We were leading in everything. But then these [disappointing] results came. Really?" Muzani said.

He said the fact that the C1 forms, which contain vote tallies from polling stations, show them losing to Jokowi and his running mate Ma'ruf Amin is inconsequential. The whole election process, he said, is riddled with fraud.

"This is not about the C1 [forms]. We feel there is injustice in the [election] process. A massive and deliberate one," he said.

Since the presidential election last month, Prabowo has declared victory at least four times in spite of quick count results from pollsters and the official count from the KPU showing Jokowi and Ma'ruf in the lead.

On Thursday, Prabowo supporters gathered in front of the Bawaslu office to rally against "structured, massive and systematic" election fraud.

With 80 percent of the ballots counted by the KPU as of Monday afternoon, Jokowi-Ma'ruf is leading with 56.3 percent of the vote compared to Prabowo-Sandi's 43.7 percent.
