Ervana Trikarinaputri, Jakarta – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto stated that the members of the Red and White Cabinet must be prepared to face criticism in carrying out their duties. Prabowo conveyed this during a grand harvest and announcement of food self-sufficiency event held in Karawang, West Java, on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.

"Indeed, you are all ministers, you are appointed to be criticized, then that it's okay," said Prabowo, as broadcasted on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube channel.

Prabowo initially mentioned that he received a report from one of the ministers regarding companies that violated regulations and would face permit revocation sanctions. However, the Chairman of the Gerindra Party did not want to see the list of these companies. He was afraid of conflict of interest and being influenced if the companies belonged to friends or other Gerindra cadres.

Prabowo then emphasized that those who violate regulations must be punished. According to him, the meaning stated in Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution is clear and does not need to be interpreted further. The earth, water, and all the resources contained in it are controlled by the state and used to the fullest extent for the prosperity of the people.

He also invited his cabinet members to step down if they are unable to fulfill this duty. "Many can replace you, don't be afraid. There are good young people who are willing to fight for the common good," said Prabowo.

At the same event, Prabowo likened his cabinet to a football team. There are attackers, midfielders, and even substitute players. "Each understands their duties. The strikers, the midfielders, the defenders, and even the substitutes know how to be good substitutes and will be played at the right time," he said.
