Eka Yudha Saputra, Jakarta – The Forum of Retired TNI Officers (FPP TNI) plans to seek support for the impeachment of Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka by sending letters to the House of Representatives (DPR), the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), and political party leaders.

The group said the move is based on Article 7A of the 1945 Constitution.

FPP TNI representative Dwi Cahyo said sending the official letters would be the group's main agenda before holding face-to-face meetings with political party leaders.

"We will also send letters to the party leaders before scheduling meetings. The first people we will meet are the party leaders," Dwi Cahyo said on Wednesday, October 7, 2026.

When asked about plans to coordinate with political party leaders, Dwi confirmed that FPP TNI would meet with them, although no specific schedule has been set.

"We at FPP TNI will discuss it in a meeting first," Dwi said.

The FPP TNI's plan comes amid public scrutiny over a Constitutional Court (MK) ruling concerning Gibran's educational qualifications as a vice presidential candidate.

Although the court dismissed a petition challenging the 2024 presidential election results, the judges' considerations noted that they found no convincing evidence regarding Gibran's fulfillment of the high school education requirement when he registered as a vice presidential candidate.

Responding to the ruling, Gibran said he respected the entire legal process.

"Yes, thank you. We respect all the stages and processes at the Constitutional Court. The most important thing now is that I will continue to focus on working for the people and making sure the vision, mission, and programs of Mr. President, as our leader, are successful," Gibran said in Jakarta, according to an official statement released by the Vice Presidential Secretariat on Wednesday.

Regarding scrutiny over his high school diploma, Gibran said he had completed an undergraduate degree, making it impossible for him not to have graduated from high school.

"If I hadn't graduated from high school, I wouldn't have been able to attend college. I also completed my bachelor's degree in Singapore," he said.

Gibran said he would follow up on the Constitutional Court judges' considerations.

"Yes, we will follow that up soon," he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad said he respected the Constitutional Court's decision to dismiss the petition.

Asked about the judges' considerations and possible legislative follow-up, Dasco said he had not studied the ruling in detail.

"Yes, I have not studied the ruling further. I only heard about the decision that was made by the Constitutional Court. I have not studied the other aspects yet," Dasco said at the parliamentary complex in Jakarta on Wednesday.
