Intan Setiawanty, Jakarta – The Labor Party President Said Iqbal condemned Presidential Office Head Hasan Nasbi's response to the pig head terror against Tempo. When the journalist asked about the terror, Hasan Nasbi instead suggested cooking the pig head.
"Asking President Prabowo Subianto to fire Hasan Nasbi, the Head of the Presidential Communication Office, who said the pig should be cooked," Said Iqbal said in a video statement received by Tempo on Monday, March 24, 2025.
In addition to asking President Prabowo to fire his employee, Said Iqbal supported Tempo. He condemned recent terrors against Tempo and stated that he was ready to protect it from threats of terror.
"The Labor Party, Garda Metal as a component of the Labor Party, is ready to protect Tempo's office from suspected ongoing attacks," he said.
He also called for establishing a joint fact-finding team to investigate the perpetrators. "Terror against the press must not be tolerated. The press is a pillar of democracy."
Earlier, on March 19, 2025, Tempo received a package containing a pig's head with no ears. The package was sent by a courier wearing a delivery service uniform. The package was addressed to Francisca Christy Rosana, a political desk journalist and host of the Bocor Alus Politik podcast.
On March 21, 2025, Tempo's Editor-in-Chief Setri Yasra visited the National Police Headquarters to report the pig head terror. The package was handed over to the police as evidence.
The National Police Headquarters has formed a team to investigate the perpetrators and their motives. Approximately 20 police officers visited Tempo's office and took a package containing six rat carcasses sent early Saturday morning.
As is known, Tempo received a second shipment of a box containing decapitated rat carcasses. Tempo's cleaning staff found a cardboard box containing six rats on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 08:00 AM WIB (Western Indonesia time).
Upon preliminary inspection by the building management, the package of rat carcasses was thrown by an unknown person at 02:11 AM WIB from outside the compound fence of Tempo's office on Jalan Palmerah Barat, South Jakarta.
