Novali Panji Nugroho, Jakarta – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has signaled that regular retreats will be held for his cabinet, Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin has revealed.

"President Prabowo indicated that retreat activities like this are not only carried out for now but also regularly," Sjafrie said in a written statement on Monday, October 28.

According to the minister, these periodic briefing activities serve as a checkpoint for the performance of cabinet members and ensure the implementation of the government's strategic steps. "Including the TNI (Indonesian Military) Commander, Police Chief, and Attorney General," he added.

He explained that the cabinet retreat is also aimed at ensuring law enforcement, especially in addressing corruption, an issue repeatedly emphasized by the president. By setting an example, cabinet members can inspire a positive work environment within their respective ministries and institutions.

Prabowo concluded the Merah Putih Cabinet Retreat at the Military Academy (Akmil) in Magelang, Central Java, on Sunday morning, October 27. The training, which began on Thursday, October 25, was concluded with guidance from the president.

The cabinet retreat in Magelang was held in a closed-door session. On Friday, October 25, Prabowo opened the training by providing direction in the green open space of Akmil Magelang. Several topics were presented, including corruption prevention, development planning, budget policies, and bureaucratic implementation.

In a written statement from his media team on Friday, Prabowo clarified that the Cabinet Retreat agenda at Akmil Magelang was not military in nature. He simply wanted to train and guide all ministers and deputy ministers.

However, Prabowo emphasized that the retreat adheres to "The Military Way," a common approach in government. "The military way is the core of all companies, which is discipline. Secondly, loyalty. I really request that you be loyal not to Prabowo, but to the nation and the Republic of Indonesia," the president said.
