Agung Dharma Putra, Surabaya – Tri Rismaharini, the candidate for East Java Governor from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), ranked second in the 2024 East Java Governor Election, according to the latest national survey by Indikator Politik Indonesia.

However, the former Social Minister and Mayor of Surabaya dismissed the survey results, stating, "I never thought about that. Just let (the survey) put us in whatever order."

According to the survey, the leading candidate pair, Khofifah Indar Parawansa and Emil Elistianto Dardak hold an electability rate of 61.2 percent. Risma, paired with Zahrul Azhar Asumta, follows with 26.0 percent. The third pair, Luluk Nur Hamidah and Lukmanul Khakim trails behind with only 2.2 percent.

The East Java Election Commission (KPU) has set the campaign period for the East Java Pilkada from September 25 to November 23, 2024.
