Bella Evanglista Mikaputri, Jakarta – President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo admitted Wednesday that he could finally get a restful sleep when staying at the yet-to-be-built Indonesian future capital Nusantara.
Jokowi has been working from Nusantara over the past few days, among others, to lead a cabinet session and launch a series of projects. Jokowi not long ago made headlines for complaining that he struggled to get a good night's sleep during his Nusantara trip. But apparently, he could finally sleep soundly.
"I spent the night at the [new capital's] State Palace yesterday, and I could sleep well," Jokowi told the press in Nusantara.
Jokowi attributed his past sleep-deprived nights at the new capital to insufficient facilities, including the lack of an air conditioner (AC) in his bedroom.
"Well, but this [new capital project] is still unfinished. It is a huge project, one that takes time, step by step. There was no AC back then, so I could not get a good night's sleep. But last night, I slept well," Jokowi said.
The two-term president told reporters that he woke up early in the morning to look around the new capital. He added: "I even went for a jog, and everyone was still asleep."
