Antara, Jakarta – Bogor Deputy Mayor Dedie Abdul Rachim, asked the public to wear masks and keep their distance in public spaces because there are indications of rising COVID-19 cases during Ramadan.
Dedie said that Bogor Health Agency issued a circular calling on people to use masks again. "So the Health Agency assesses that there is an increase in the case number now. There are additional cases of COVID-19 in Bogor City," Dedie said as quoted from Antara, Friday, March 31, 2023.
The agency recorded a rising trend in positive cases in the last four days. In detail, there were three cases on March 27, six cases on March 28, five cases on March 29, and seven cases on March 30.
In the weekly data chart, last week's case number from March 20 to March 26 actually decreased compared to the previous week on March 13 to March 19, from 32 to 23 positive cases.
However, data on an increase in positive cases seen in the last four days reached 21 cases.
"This causes us all to be vigilant in crowds, especially in closed spaces, as instructed by the President to wear a mask," said Dedie.
Bogor Health Agency Secretary Erna Nuraena on Monday, March 27, 2023, said referring to the Home Affairs Minister's Regulation No. 53 of 2022 concerning COVID-19 prevention and control during the transitional period to endemic that the government encouraged people to continue to use masks properly.
Erna added that masks are recommended in four conditions; crowded spaces, in closed and narrow buildings/rooms, people with symptoms of respiratory disease, and people who had close contact with a COVID-19 patient.
