Antara, Jakarta – The Secretary-General of the House of Representatives (DPR) Indra Iskandar said nine members and 80 staff employees in the parliament have been confirmed positive for COVID-19. "We have conducted the tracing," said Indra on Wednesday, February 2.
He confirmed that the legislators were undergoing self-isolation at their respective residences.
However, Indra stopped short of revealing their identities, underlining that his side continued to conduct tracing. He believed that they were not exposed to the virus in the parliament complex as they carried out activities in their respective constituencies.
"I think there is a lot of activity in the electoral districts because the DPR holds meetings under strict health protocols. Many discussions of the bills and working meetings with the government are held on a limited basis," he added.
According to Indra, the DPR has updated the working mechanism and attendance, such as the policy of working from home (WFH) and working from the office (WFO) at 50 percent capacity. "The working hours are limited to 15:30 for weekdays and 15:00 on Friday."
Indra said the DPR Secretariat General did not enforce a total lockdown and handed over the decision to each board.
"I've heard that the DPR's Commission I have implemented a lockdown. The working rooms of the DPR on the 4th floor have been evaluated since a week ago until next week. This means a lockdown is being imposed," Indra said COVID-19 cases in the parliament.
