Jakarta (Antara) – Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo has deemed it 'haram' for seven state-run hospitals in his province to reject patients who seek medical care.
"I forbid (haram) provincial hospitals from rejecting patients, whatever the conditions may be, no matter how impoverished they are, the country must be responsible for them," said Ganjar in Semarang on Friday, November 8.
The governor asserted that the hospitals under the supervision of the Central Java provincial government must be truly beneficial for the people.
Other than that, he called for people to adopt a hygienic and healthy lifestyle, which he said is the answer to many "serious health issues" in the province.
Governor Ganjar also instructed related institutions to implement an easy and simplified medical administration for people who need them.
