Antara, Jakarta – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto said his administration was on the right track after two years in office. He cited food self-sufficiency, state investment agency Danantara, and a centralized export policy as key national programs.
"We are doing this for our own security. Food self-sufficiency, Danantara, a one-stop export system. We have achieved so much. So, I ask you not to feel inferior anymore. We are on the right track," Prabowo said in a statement received in Jakarta on Friday.
Prabowo also highlighted the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program, describing it as a strategic investment in the future of Indonesian children. He said the government was taking disciplinary action and conducting internal reviews to address problems in the program.
According to Prabowo, 13 people had been named suspects, 203 were being examined by the Attorney General's Office, 353 had been dishonorably dismissed, and 2,600 others were under investigation by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) inspectorate. The statement did not specify the alleged violations or clarify whether the figures referred exclusively to cases involving the MBG program.
"Do not hesitate. Dismiss them, clean things up, until everything is clean. The MBG program is strategic and very important for the future of our children," Prabowo said.
Prabowo also cited the government's economic and infrastructure programs. He said 10,000 Merah Putih Village Cooperatives were operating, around 440,000 homes had undergone renovation, and nearly 90,000 schools had been renovated during his administration's first two years.
On connectivity, Prabowo said the Bridge Task Force had built nearly 5,000 bridges connecting around 12,000 villages. He thanked the task force and its head, Maruli, for the work.
The government had also allocated funding for 66 regional hospitals, 22 of which Prabowo said had been completed. He added that the administration was promoting public service malls and government digitalization to improve public services and social assistance distribution.
Prabowo thanked cabinet members for their cooperation over the past two years and praised national figures who had joined the Presidential Advisory Council, saying their participation reflected national unity.
He urged government officials to work together to address shortcomings and accelerate priority programs.
"There is still much work to do, many challenges, and many weaknesses. We must work together to overcome them. We have to work as a team," he said.
