Sultan Abdurrahman, Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto called Chief of the Indonesian National Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo on Thursday, June 25, 2026. At the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, Listyo briefed Prabowo on the public safety and order situation in various regions of Indonesia.
According to Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Listyo conveyed that the National Police are committed to maintaining national stability. "The report covers the national public safety and order conditions and various measures being taken by the police to maintain stability and support the smooth progress of the national development agenda," said Teddy in his statement.
In addition to discussing public security, Teddy stated that Listyo also outlined the police's preparations to welcome the commemoration of Bhayangkara Day in 2026. These preparations include holding several social and community service activities throughout the country.
"The Police Chief also conveyed the readiness of the Indonesian National Police, which will soon hold a series of events to commemorate Bhayangkara Day in 2026," said Cabinet Secretary Teddy.
Bhayangkara Day is commemorated every July 1. This date marks the unification of the police forces scattered across various regions of Indonesia after the colonial era into a national unity on July 1, 1946.
Teddy stated that the police are currently organizing community service activities as part of the Bhayangkara Day commemoration this year. He claimed that these social activities are also a way for the police to strengthen their ties with the community.
"Various social and community service activities throughout Indonesia have been prepared to commemorate the police's dedication to the nation and state, while also strengthening the police institution's closeness with the community," said this lieutenant colonel in the army.
In the photo released by the Presidential Secretariat, Police Chief Listyo appeared alone meeting with President Prabowo. Meanwhile, Prabowo was accompanied by two palace officials, namely Teddy Indra Wijaya and State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi.
