Sultan Abdurrahman, Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto has directed the Attorney General's Office to prosecute unruly and uncontrollable businesspeople. According to him, those who prove difficult to manage and cause harm to Indonesia may be subject to criminal charges.

The President noted that a number of business figures continue to underestimate both the government and the law in Indonesia. These individuals, Prabowo says, show blatant disregard for the legal decisions handed down by the state.

The Gerindra Party Chairperson cited illegal mining operators as an example of those who persist in their activities despite having their permits revoked.

"There was a permit revoked by the Indonesian government, yet for eight years, this businessman has remained 'dablek', continuing to mine without a permit," Prabowo said during an event for the handover of administrative fines and state fund protection at the Attorney General's Office in Jakarta on Friday, April 10, 2026.

The Head of State suggested that such businesspeople are effectively mocking Indonesia. "They spit on the sacrifices of those who fell for the independence of Indonesia. They do not respect the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia," he remarked.

Prabowo also requested Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin to take action against them if they remain stubborn. "I instruct the Attorney General to enforce the law. If they refuse to cooperate, prosecute them. We have no doubt, and we are not afraid," he declared.

According to him, there are only two options when facing corruption in Indonesia. The first is to take the right path, siding with justice and the people. Meanwhile, the second option is to side with the corruptors, deceivers, manipulators, and smugglers who dare to underestimate Indonesia.

The former Minister of Defense also mentioned that these unruly businessmen will likely resist. He claimed that they possess the means to finance various movements against the state.

"They will use every tool; they will use the money they stole to finance movements. We are not afraid. Believe me, the people are with us," he said.

At the same event, President Prabowo witnessed the handover of Rp11.4 trillion from the Task Force for the Control of Forest Areas (Satgas PKH) to the state treasury.

According to the Presidential Secretariat, the Rp11.4 trillion returned to the state treasury originated from various sources. These include the collection of administrative fines in the forestry sector totaling Rp7.23 trillion and non-tax state revenues from corruption cases handled by the Attorney General's Office amounting to Rp1.96 trillion.

In addition, the funds included tax payment revenues for the period of January to April 2026, amounting to Rp967.7 billion, state revenues from tax payments for January-February 2026 from PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara, amounting to Rp108.5 billion, and non-tax state revenue (PNBP) from environmental fines worth Rp1.14 trillion.
