Jamal Abdun Nashr, Jakarta – Hundreds of students from State High School 2 Kudus suffered food poisoning after consuming free nutritious meals (MBG) on Thursday, January 29, 2026. The food distribution program was part of President Prabowo Subianto's campaign promises.

Several students affected by the poisoning are currently receiving treatment at various hospitals across Kudus. Kudus Regent Sam'ani Intakoris stated, "The latest data shows that 112 students have been admitted to hospitals."

He noted that the number of students exhibiting symptoms of poisoning is several times higher than that of those currently hospitalized. "There are 450 students who have experienced these symptoms," he said.

According to the Regent, various agencies are collaborating to manage the mass poisoning incident. "We are handling this collectively with the police, military, volunteers, the Health Agency, and both public and private hospitals," he added.

The Central Java Health Agency has opened a hotline to receive reports concerning MBG-related issues. Reports can be submitted via the number 0811-2622-000.

The agency will forward any reports received to the Unit for Fulfilling Nutritional Needs (SPPG) or MBG kitchens. "We will issue warnings and inform non-compliant SPPG, as well as forward the information to the National Nutrition Agency (BGN)," said the Head of the Central Java Health Agency, Yunita Dyah Suminar.
