M. Faiz Zaki, Jakarta – Indonesia's Ministry of Finance has collected Rp11.48 trillion from 104 tax delinquents as of November 19, 2025.
Director General of Taxes Bimo Wijayanto said the ministry will submit details of the outstanding debts, including how long each has been overdue, to the House of Representatives (DPR).
"We will present everything in detail, including the age of each debt," Bimo told lawmakers during a hearing with House Commission XI at the parliamentary complex on Monday, November 24, 2025.
According to Bimo, the 104 tax delinquents are part of a group of 201 major taxpayers who have yet to fulfill their obligations. Authorities have taken active collection measures targeting the taxpayers and their guarantors.
The ministry is also coordinating with its echelon I units, financial service institutions, and law enforcement agencies. In addition, it is working with the Attorney General's Office to pursue taxpayers involved in legal disputes.
"We are coordinating with the Deputy Attorney General for Civil and State Administrative Affairs and the Asset Recovery Center on cases involving legal complications," Bimo said.
The government had earlier set a target of recovering Rp50-60 trillion from roughly 200 major tax evaders. For this year, the realistic target is estimated at Rp20 trillion.
Bimo said the Directorate General of Taxes will intensify data-driven enforcement and expand the tax base to counter criticism that the agency is merely "hunting in a zoo", or repeatedly targeting the same taxpayers.
"We will begin exercising policies to broaden the tax base, potentially through electronic systems and digital transactions, depending on the leadership's direction," he said at the ministry's APBN KiTa press conference in Jakarta on Thursday, November 20, 2025, as quoted by Antara.
For law enforcement, Bimo added, the government will employ a multi-door approach alongside relevant agencies, combining tax crime investigations with corruption and money-laundering probes.
