Hammam Izzuddin, Jakarta – The Indonesian National Police (Polri) conducted simultaneous nationwide operations with all regional police and precincts in dealing with gangsterism practices. This was stated in telegram number: STR/1081/IV/OPS.1.3/2025.
Public Relations Bureau Head of the Polri Public Information Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, stated that this operation targets gangsterism practices considered increasingly rampant and potentially disrupt national security stability, and the investment climate.
Furthermore, he said that the operation focuses on combating extortion, illegal levies, threats, intimidation, assault, and harassment carried out by individuals or groups. Truno stated that the Polri will firmly crack down on perpetrators and comprehensively expose gangsterism networks.
"Gangsterism in any form that disrupts public order and business climate will be firmly dealt with. This is part of the efforts to create a sense of security and legal certainty, especially for business actors in Indonesia," said Trunoyudo in his written statement on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. According to him, the operations are carried out with a law enforcement approach supported by intelligence, pre-emptive, and preventive activities.
The Polri will also establish synergy with the TNI (Indonesian National Armed Forces), local governments, and relevant stakeholders in implementing this operation. Cross-sector coordination, he said, is critical to ensuring that the operation succeeds and provides lasting stability.
