Abdul Manan, Antara, Jakarta – The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Pamekasan Regency Government, East Java, recorded at least 22 units of buildings in houses, kitchens and public facilities damaged by heavy rains accompanied by strong winds in the last two days.

"The number of buildings damaged by bad weather in the form of heavy rain accompanied by strong winds is the result of data collection that we have carried out until tonight," said Head of the Emergency and Logistics Division of BPBD Pamekasan Achmad Zainullah, Thursday night, December 26, 2024, as quoted by Antara.

Zainullah explained that the 22 damaged buildings were spread across three villages in Galis Subdistrict, namely Ponteh Village, Konang and Galis Village. The details are 16 houses in Konang Village, 2 in Ponteh Village, and 3 in Galis Village. "One building in the form of a public facility was also reported damaged," he said.

Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds has also caused flooding in several locations. Among them are in Nyalabu Indah Housing and in Proppo, Pamekasan. However, the flooding in these two locations was only in the form of puddles due to overflowing waterways. "It has now receded and the rain has stopped," he said.

Zainullah urged residents to increase their vigilance. Because based on the forecasts of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), bad weather still has the potential to occur in Pamekasan Regency and several other districts in East Java in the next few days.
