Daniel A. Fajri, Jakarta – President Joko Widodo or Jokowi encouraged ministries and institutions to immediately integrate nine key government services into a unified portal called INA Digital.
This was conveyed in a limited meeting on the transformation and integration of national digital services at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, on Monday, March 25.
Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Azwar Anas said this policy aims to streamline public access by integrating various institutional and ministerial programs.
In the meeting, Azwar said, the President instructed all ministries to integrate with INA Digital by May this year
"When this is finished in May or June, God willing, people will no longer need to go to the sub-district or village to get an IKD (digital identity card), but they will just have to use biometrics to get an IKD," Azwar explained.
He added that the INA Digital, which is managed by state-owned securities paper company Peruri, aligns with Presidential Decree No. 82/2023 concerning the Acceleration of Digital Transformation and Integration of National Digital Services.
"We are moving forward since Presidential Decree 82 was passed in terms of GovTech (government technology) because we see that almost all the top 20 countries in the world that have electronic-based government systems have GovTech," said Azwar.
Some of the services that will soon be integrated include population, education, health, police, social assistance, and immigration. The government believed that this integration would not only make it easier for the public to access services but would also increase efficiency and transparency.
The Minister also hoped that the full implementation of INA Digital would enable Indonesia to improve its international e-government index significantly. Currently, he said, Indonesia's international government development index has risen by 30 places from 107 to 77. "We are optimistic that if this is done, our index will jump again," he concluded.
