Public bank savings stand at Rp 2,668 trillion in January

Prisma Ardianto, Jakarta – The amount of individual and corporate savings in Indonesia totaled Rp 2,668.9 trillion ($171 billion) in January, an increase of 4.2 percent from the same month last year, according to central bank data published on Friday.

The figures comprise Rp 2,388.5 trillion in individual savings, Rp 231.3 trillion in corporate savings, and Rp 49.1 trillion from other categories of account holders.

Indonesian banks also saw a 6 percent rise in the amount of term deposits, valued at Rp 3,041 trillion with almost equal distribution between corporate and individual account holders.

Meanwhile, current account deposits totaled Rp 2,459.2 trillion in January.

The public funds in saving accounts, term deposit accounts, and current account deposits totaled Rp 8,169.1 trillion, up by 5.8 percent compared with January 2023.
