Antara, Jakarta – The Minister of Home Affairs issued a circular on Covid-19 cases prevention during the 2022 Eid gathering.

"In line with the Eid al-Fitr 1443 Hijri celebration and to prevent the increase in Covid-19 cases during the Eid public gathering, the governors and regents/mayors are asked to pay attention to the following details," said the minister in the circular letter released in Jakarta, April 23.

First, the gathering may be held based on the level of the Covid restrictions in each region set by the Home Affairs Ministry Instruction on Covid-19 PPKM Level 3, 2, and 1 in Java-Bali. This also applies to the gathering activities in other regions such as Sumatra, Nusa Tenggara, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua.

Second, the circular regulates the maximum guests that may attend the gathering at 50 percent capacity for those in the category of level 3 restriction, 75 percent for the regions under level 2 PPKM, and 100 percent for the regions under level 1 PPKM.

Third, for the gathering with over 100 attendees, the foods and beverages must be prepared in take-out packages and there must not be buffet service. "Activities involving people eating together and removing their masks must be avoided as it poses Covid-19 transmission," wrote the issuance.

Lastly, the minister reminded the people to maintain strict health protocols.
