Theressia Sunday Silalahi, Jakarta – The Hajj and Umrah Ministry confirmed Tuesday that Indonesia's Hajj quota for 2026 will remain at 221,000 pilgrims, with 92 percent allocated for the regular Hajj and 8 percent for special fast-track Hajj programs.

"Quotas for 2026 remain at 221,000, with approximately 203,000 for regular Hajj and 17,000 for special Hajj," Deputy Minister Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak said in Jakarta.

Dahnil said discussions on the Hajj fee for the 2026 season will continue in consultation with the House of Representatives' Commission VIII.

The government had reduced the proposed Hajj pilgrimage cost for 2025 to Rp 89.7 million ($5,537) per person, down from the initial proposal of Rp 93.4 million. Under the revised scheme, each pilgrim will pay approximately Rp 55.5 million, while the government will subsidize the remaining Rp 34.07 million.

He also mentioned planned changes to the regional allocation of Hajj quotas, in accordance with legal provisions, which could see some provinces receiving higher allocations while others face reductions.

Two officially appointed companies will serve as designated service providers for Indonesian pilgrims in 2026. Dahnil said the firms were selected from 150 applicants through a rigorous procurement process.

Indonesia currently holds the world's largest Hajj quota at around 220,000 pilgrims annually, yet demand far exceeds supply. More than 5.5 million Indonesians are registered for Hajj, resulting in estimated waiting times of 20 to 40 years.
