M Julnis Firmansyah, Jakarta – Indonesia logged 30,156 Covid-19 cases today, March 5. Based on the Health Ministry's data, in the past 24 hours, 322 people were declared dead and 46,669 recovered.

Today's new cases added the active cases in the country to 500,418. The total case since the pandemic hit Indonesia in March 2020, was 5,723,858 cases.

The data also showed that West Java still contributed the highest infections with 6,701 cases. Followed by East Java with 3,654 and Jakarta at 3,059. Yogyakarta was in fourth place with 2,179 cases and Banten in the fifth with 1,501 cases.

Indonesian provinces with the least Covid-19 cases include Maluku (4 cases), West Nusa Tenggara (50 cases), Gorontalo (57 cases), North Maluku (66 cases), Southeast Sulawesi (74 cases), and West Papua (137 cases).
