Dewi Nurita, Jakarta – Coordinating Maritime Affairs and Investment Minister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan in a press conference on Monday said the government continues to push for the use of the home-grown COVID-19 tracing app PeduliLindungi and plans to expose those who fail to use the app.
He plans to publicly expose businesses and public facilities that lack the discipline in using the app's tracing feature.
"The Health Minister will expose the stores or restaurants that do not utilize PeduliLindungi," said Luhut in the conference on January 24 "So, don't you go in there for the risk of COVID-19 transmission."
Within the past week, Indonesia has logged steadily-growing daily confirmed cases that ranged between 2,000-3,000. Cases detected in the two most populated islands of Java and Bali continued to contribute the most in the rising daily cases.
The positivity rate in general from PCR and antigen swab tests are still below the suggested safe number from the World Health Organization (WHO) of five percent. However, the positivity rate of PCR tests have increased to nine percent.
"With these developments, we urge people's vigilance. Don't abandon health protocols, always wear a mask, reduce unnecessary activities outdoors, and always utilize PeduliLindung in public places," said Luhut Pandjaitan.
Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said the data regarding PeduliLindungi will be made public soon under the permission of Vice President Ma'ruf Amin. "We can determine which locations are disciplined," said the Minister.
