Escaped pet croc drops by at vaccination venue in Indonesia

It was a day like any other at a COVID-19 vaccination venue in Tuban, East Java, before a crocodile, which was at least 1 meter long, terrified the health conscious folks when it paid them a visit.

On Tuesday, needles were briefly put down at the venue when the large reptile emerged out of a nearby sewage drain, as if (but not actually – we don't speak croc) asking for a jab.

"There was some chaos earlier when people were getting their jabs at the clinic. But the crocodile was captured and tied up by several people," Bagio, a witness at the scene, said.

The croc's capture was documented in news reports.

The subdued reptile was eventually returned to its owner, a 15-year-old boy, who told the police that his scaly friend went missing a week prior.

Despite the owner not having official dispensation to keep the protected wildlife as a pet, local authorities only told him to provide a special enclosure for the crocodile and to feed it regularly so it doesn't escape.
