Adam Prireza, Jakarta – The Jakarta provincial government on Thursday has launched a mobile Covid-19 vaccination program, which utilizes specifically-built trucks, in order to boost the city's vaccination count.

The governor Anies Baswedan also stated that this is the city's attempt to quickly reach herd immunity. The Covid-19 vaccines will be eligible for people aged 12 and beyond. The city administration aims to vaccinate 8.8 million Jakartans by August.

"We want more people developing the immune system because of vaccinations, not infections," said the governor at Jakarta's City Hall. "Five million people have received their first dose and we will continue to boost the number through mobile vaccinations."

The administration has mobilized 16 vaccination trucks that will be placed in various locations. The Jakarta residents can register themselves through the JAKI mobile app.
