Dewi Nurita, Jakarta – Indonesia received the tenth batch delivery of COVID-19 vaccines at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport at 13:00 local time today, April 30. They are Sinovac's bulk vaccine and ready-to-use Sinopharm vaccine.
"Six million doses of Sinovac's bulk vaccine and 482,400 doses of Sinopharm vaccine have arrived today," said Communications and Informatics (Kominfo) Minister Johnny G. Plate on Friday.
According to Johnny, Indonesia has thus far received 65,500,000 doses of bulk vaccine from Chinese pharmaceutical firm Sinovac and 8,448,000 doses of ready-to-use vaccine from Sinovac, China's Sinopharm, and AstraZeneca (from the COVAX Facility).
Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin previously said that Indonesia would receive an additional 10-15 million Sinovac vaccine in April-May.
With the additional supplies of Sinovac and Sinopharm vaccines, Budi asked regional heads in 34 provinces to increase their daily vaccination targets. "[After] we hit the brake [in COVID-19 vaccination] because of insufficient vaccine supplies," said Budi in an online press conference on Monday, April 26.
