Dewi Nurita, Jakarta – The Indonesian Covid-19 Task Force said that the number of red zone and orange zones for transmission Covid-19 risks has increased. "Six districts or cities that were previously orange zones have become red this week," the National Covid-19 Task Force spokesman Wiku Adisasmito said in a written statement, Friday, April 16.

The regencies/cities are Tabanan and Denpasar City in Bali, Palembang in South Sumatra, Deli Serdang and Medan City in North Sumatra, and Tanah Bumbu in South Kalimantan.

As of April 11, 2021, the Covid-19 zoning map showed 11 districts/cities have become red zones (high risk). The number of orange zones (medium risk) also increases from 289 to 316. Meanwhile, yellow zones (low risk) decreased from 207 to 178, and the number of green zone (relatively safe) is unchanged at eight, and the number of districts/cities not affected by the pandemic remains at one.

The Covid-19 Task Force asked local governments in these six areas to continue monitoring situations and development. Other local governments are also asked to be vigilant and practice strict monitoring for risks.

"The increasing number of red and orange zones indicates that we need to keep improving Covid-19 response and improve coordination with all regional elements by utilizing [Covid-19] posts," Wiku remarked.
