Yudha Baskoro, Jakarta – With no more self-isolation, hotels are getting ready to quarantine asymptomatic Covid-19 patients.

Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has banned patients from self-isolating at home because many have ignored health protocols and thus causing household clusters.

To avoid overwhelming hospitals and sports stadiums, the Covid-19 task force has teamed up with hotel operators around the Greater Jakarta area to house asymptomatic patients.

The Green Hotel in Bekasi, for instance, was directly appointed by the local government and the Bekasi City Covid-19 task force to convert all ninety of its rooms into a self-isolation facility.

According to Green Hotel general manager Asep Hermawan, the hotel was selected for their experience in quarantining asymptomatic patients from private companies. Once converted into an isolation facility, the hotel no longer accommodates regular guests.

Patients can self-isolate comfortably as the hotel will tend to their daily needs.

Meals will be served thrice a day. Patients also do not need to worry about dirty laundry thanks to the hotel's laundry services, whereas their medical needs will be handled by the Bekasi Covid-19 task force.

Hotel staff and guests must also abide by strict health protocols when on the premises to avoid virus transmission.
